Our Painting Work

Painting Inside and Outside

Painting work at American Force General Construction covers interior rooms and full exterior repaints. That includes walls, ceilings, trim, doors, siding, and the small details around windows and entrances. Houses, offices, retail spaces, warehouses, and apartment buildings all qualify for the same crew.

Paint is the cheapest exterior protection a building has. It is also the first thing to fail when the surface underneath was not prepared. Scraping, patching, and priming decide how long the finish holds. The color is the easy part.

Sub-Services

What Our Painting Services Cover

6 painting sub-services under one contract, handled by the same crew from inspection through the final cleanup.

01

Interior Painting in New Jersey

Interior painting for single rooms, whole floors, and full repaints. Furniture gets moved and covered, floors get protected, and edges get cut in by hand. Interior painting is judged on the lines, so the cutting in matters more than the roller work.

02

Interior Surface Painting in New Jersey

Interior surface painting covers walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and stairwell railings. Each surface takes a different finish. Ceilings go flat, trim and doors take something that wipes clean. Patching, sanding, and caulking happen first, because paint does not hide a bad wall.

03

Exterior Painting in New Jersey

Exterior painting on houses, garages, porches, and commercial building faces. Washing, scraping, spot priming, and caulking come first, then the coats go on in order. Exterior paint in New Jersey has to survive summer sun, winter freeze, and everything between them.

04

Exterior Surface Painting in New Jersey

Exterior surface painting covers siding, fascia, soffits, shutters, handrails, and front entry doors. Wood, vinyl, and metal surfaces each need different preparation and different primers underneath the finish. The surfaces nobody sees from the driveway are usually the first ones to fail.

05

Residential Painting in New Jersey

Residential painting on single family homes, duplexes, townhouses, condo units, and rentals. Work gets staged room by room so the house stays livable while the project runs. Low odor products matter more in an occupied house than on a commercial job site.

06

Commercial Painting in New Jersey

Commercial painting on offices, retail spaces, warehouses, lobbies, hallways, and apartment building interiors. Common areas, hallways, and stairwells get handled section by section, not all at once. Commercial painting is measured in square footage and downtime, not just in gallons of paint.

What Matters

What Kills Exterior Paint Fastest

Peeling and Flaking

Moisture behind the surface pushes the film off from underneath, which is why peeling usually starts near gutters and grade.

Blistering and Bubbling

Paint applied over a damp or sun heated surface traps what is underneath and lifts within the first full season.

Fading and Chalking

South facing walls take the most sun, lose their color first, and leave a chalky residue behind on your hand.

Preparation Was Skipped

Paint rolled over dirt, loose film, or open caulk joints fails on schedule, no matter what the paint itself cost.

Our Process

How a Painting Project Runs

Four steps from the first phone call to the final cleanup — no surprises, no guesswork.

01

Surface Assessment

Someone inspects the surfaces, identifies moisture or prep issues, and documents what needs handling.

02

Written Estimate

Full scope, coats, materials, and total go on paper before any work starts.

03

Prep and Prime

Surfaces get cleaned, sanded, and primed. Loose paint comes off and repairs happen before color.

04

Two Finish Coats

Two full coats go on with proper drying between them, then the site gets cleaned up.

Why Us

Why Choose American Force for Painting

Prep Before Paint

Most of the labor on a good paint job happens before anyone opens the first can of paint.

Samples on Site

Color reads differently on your wall than on a chip, so samples go up before anything is ordered.

Painting After Repairs

The siding, trim, and masonry get fixed first, so the paint is not covering up a problem underneath.

FAQ

Painting Questions We Get Often

Q1 How many coats do you use?

Two finish coats over primed surfaces is the standard here. A dramatic color change or bare wood can need more. The estimate says how many coats it's priced for, so there's no surprise later.

Q2 Do I need to move my furniture?

We move what we can and cover the rest. Small stuff, wall hangings, and anything breakable are better off packed away by you before we start. Everything else we take care of on site.

Q3 When is the best time to paint outside?

Late spring through early fall, mostly. Paint needs surface temperature and low humidity to cure right. Painting in cold or damp conditions is how you end up repainting the same surface in two years.

Q4 How soon can I use the room?

Most interior paint is dry to the touch in a few hours, but it keeps curing for days. Furniture can go back the same day. Just don't slide it up against the fresh walls.

Q5 Do you fix the walls before painting?

Yes, that's part of the job. Nail holes, dents, cracked corners, and open caulk lines get patched first. Painting over a bad wall just gives you a bad wall in a brand new color.

Q6 Can you paint over wallpaper?

We'd rather take it down. Paint seals wallpaper in place, and if a seam lifts later the whole patch has to come off anyway. Removing it first is almost always the cleaner route overall.
